Credit Card Companies Set You Up To Have Debt

I started reading another book on paying off your debt. I wish it was as easy as they make it sound, but between the credit card companies and the marketing that is done today, it is no wonder there is so much debt in this country. Retailers make their items appear as though they are something you cannot live without. And since you know you must have it, why should you worry about paying for it?

They will give it to you with a teaser interest rate of 0% for the first year. But what they don’t tell you is that if you don’t pay the item off in the first year, you will be responsible for not only interest in the future, but all the interest you would have paid in the past. Although, it may sound like you are getting a deal, there is a good chance there are some things you are not being told and you are probably not getting the deal you think you are.

What Are Your Plans for the Upcoming Year

With the New Year coming people begin to think about how they are going to change their lives. They make what they refer to as “resolutions”. I actually prefer to call it goal setting. Resolutions remind me of something that is made to be broke, since that is usually what happens with most New Year’s resolutions.

My resolution for this year is to pick a few small goals that are attainable. When those have been achieved, then I will set a few more. And hopefully 12 months from now, I will be consumer debt free and have lost 30 or 40 pounds by setting 10 pounds weight loss goals.

I am excited about the New Year and have come a long way in the past year. I have a business that has gotten me one more step closer to being able to leave the corporate world and I have paid off several financial obligations.

My Dual Challenge

I am embarking on a new challenge in my life. Actually it is going to be a dual challenge. I am working on a new website and the first part of the challenge is to get that site making four figures per month in the less than a year. With a little bit of work and the right kind of keywords and backlinking that should not really be so difficult. It is the second part of the challenge that will take real effort on my part.

The site I am working on deals with the healthy industry and my challenge is to lose 40 pounds while I am working on the site and to write about my challenges, setbacks and accomplishments through the whole process. There are many people that write about the factual part of health issues, but it is rarer for someone to talk about their personal experience. I often learn a lot more from reading what someone went through personally than what a medical professional tells me will likely happen.

Living to Eat

Eating…it is something everyone has to do to survive, but far too many live to eat instead of eating to live and that includes me. I have tried about everything there is to deal with compulsive overeating and it has got to be the most difficult things in the world to manage. The thing about a food addiction is it is the one substance that a person can abuse that you cannot abstain from.

While you can abstain from certain types of food, bottom line is that you are going to have to eat and if you are going to stay healthy, you are going to have to manage what you put in your mouth. Geneen Roth has written several books on dealing with emotional eating and I think she has one of the best approaches to compulsive eating habits.

She basically says forget the concept of dieting and eat when you are hungry. Eat enough to satisfy your hunger and still feel comfortable. The bottom line is that if you are eating for any reason other than being hungry, you are eating emotionally. The truth is eating will not eliminate anything but hunger. Any other problem you may have that would cause you to eat, will still exist after you get done eating.

Keeping a Positive Mental Outlook

What do you do to keep yourself on track mentally? I guess we wouldn't be human if we did not go through different mood changes in our lives. I kind of feel stuck right now. Even though, I have made tremendous strides in dealing with my debt and building a business, it seems that if I am not being challenged, I don't feel like I am moving forward. And I know that is not true. I am the kind of person that wants everything now. That can be good, but it can also be very bad.

I am getting ready to start a new project and I am having a hard time remaining patient. I want it to start now and when it starts is not something I can control. I guess I need to walk in the park and reflect on the things that I have to be grateful for. Once I do that, many things will fall into their proper places.

What Would You Do For Your Pet?

Most of us would do anything within our means to protect our pets and keep them healthy. They are part of our family and most people think of them the same way they think of their children. Recently, my 4 year old cat developed what seemed like a cold. She had a runny nose and was sneezing numerous times in succession.

We took her to the vet and it took the vet 30 seconds to see that her gums were infected and almost to the point where they we bleeding. The vet felt she either had feline leukemia or FIV(kitty HIV). I was devastated, but was doubtful that she had either condition. She(Mary) tested negative for both of these diseases and it was determined that she had a severe case of gum disease.

To my relief, it was treatable and I was told the extraction of her teeth would cost $500-$800. The surgery was more difficult than first thought. The vet thought that many of her teeth would fall right out. That was not the case. They had to be drilled out. A month and $1150 later, Mary has only a few teeth left in the front, but she is healthy again. She is a completely different cat. She got sick so slowly, I did not notice until her condition was very bad. The change in her since the surgery is dramatic. To me, $1150 was a small price to pay for having Mary happy and healthy again.

Can You Survive the Corporate World

The corporate world can be very stressful. Anything you can do to ease that stress will make your life that much easier. Dankso shoes outlet can help ease that stress by offering you the comfort that you need to make it through the day. Discount Dansko clogs have become very popular with people that have to spend a lot of time on their feet.

I will take anything that will make it easier to get through the day. Personally, I prefer a nice comfortable pair of tennis shoes, but the casualness of walking shoes is not accepted in all worlds. And if you have expect to succeed you have to fit into whatever arena you are playing in. Unfortunately, in order to move up in the corporate world you have to do everything you can to be accepted.

Although the corporate world has got me where I am today, it is not the direction I want to head. I am working hard to build a business that will allow me to work from anywhere in the world that has the internet. I look forward to the day that I do not have to sit in a cube, but until that time I will still be looking for Dansko shoes on sale.
